Friday 12th June - Day 14

Friday 12th June - Qualification Day for C1M and K1W
Breakfast at the hotel and of to the slalom course. The day was bright and clear and the rain from Thursday had gone and we were all looking forward to the forecast 34degC.
The day was to be a long one, Demo's started the day at the course followed by a few hours break before the start of the competition.
The first class away was the C1M with our 3 entries of Jaxon, Joey and Tim. All put in stong performances on the Warwick designed course however the best that could be achieved was short of the qualification time for the Semi finals.
The send class for the day was the K1W, we had all 4 girls entered of Jess, Antra, Ashleigh and Ali, Again unfortunately we were not fast enough to make the semi's within the Senior field although all girls were making improvements on the first ruins until disaster struck Ashleigh at gate 12. Ashleigh pulled her shoulder very badly and she struggled to the finish in great pain. The medical services looked after her well but recommended she should go to the hospital for xrays and a more detailed examination. Fortunately the xrays did not indicate any bone damage and a sling and rest was ordered. Ashleigh will be out of action for the rest of the tour.
Dinner ws again at the hotel and eary to bed ready for day 2 of qualifications
