Competition Day - Junior Worlds

Well the day has finally arrived, finals day at the Junior World Championships, a good effort so far with 6 of the 7 members of the team lining up for the semi-finals this morning.

The weather is a clear and fine day… looks like it will be a hot one.

We are about to head off to the course; 8:00am

Semi Finals start with a clean run by Ethan Hodson with a time of 107.64. Put him in 3rd position, we watched with baited breath until the last 2 paddlers of the day to push him from the top 10. Ethan finished in the semi with a12th - an excellent result.

Well the girls have run the race and now we wait. Natasha was first with a touch on gate 6 and a recirc down the bottom, Antra was next with a single touch and finally Ashleigh with 2 touches. The girls times were Antra 130.4, Ashleigh 134.18 and Natasha 138.14. The final position after the semi finals were Antra - 19th, Ashleigh - 22nd and Natasha 25th. Well done girls.

The boys are next just before midday… Time know 11.45

Well the boys did not have the best of days picking up a couple of 50's on the way down the course. Joey was very unlucky with a roll between the ups below the drop, he was washed down and touched a subsequent gate.

Racing for the Aussies is over for the day, we will now sit back and have lunch and watch the finals this afternoon to see who is the ultimate champions of the Junior worlds at Roudnice.

It is now 1:00pm and the Semi's are over and the Aussie are into swapping madly uniforms.
