Competition Day - Junior Worlds

Hi Guys, well the first day of racing commenced today. An early start this morning with three groups leaving the accommodation at different times, Ethan leaving first at 7:00 (he was racing first at 9:20), followed by the girls; Natasha, Antra and Ashleigh at 7:30 (racing after C1). Finally followed by the boys; Josh, Ben and Joey who are spectators today, they race tomorrow.

First runs saw too many penalties by all athletes but solid runs put them in a good position for the semi-finals. 2nd runs came around quickly and were over before we knew it. Ashleigh was the only person today to have a clean run, so well done.

The morning qualification runs finished off with all Aussies making the semi finals.

The K1 boys had lunch and returned to the accommodation. The girls had to stay as K1W teams were scheduled for the afternoon. Two runs for each team, after the first run of teams the girls were running 5th, they had a shot at a medal. But unfortunately a 50 on gate 17 in the second run put them out of contention.

Overall, a great days racing with everyone going through to the semi-finals. We are hoping the boys K1 can do the same tomorrow.
