Hi everyone, it is know my turn
to do the diaries as we head into the race
period. Well a 6:00am start and a trip to
Tesco for food for the day. Natasha and Ethan
were doing an early morning recovery session
on the flat-water in Prague, followed by all
the team did a stretching session at 9:00
in the Gym.
Ashleigh, Ben and Joey headed
to the course at 10:30 for a session at 12
noon, the others elected to have a rest day.
Boat control was at 1:00PM with all boats,
PFD's and Helmets passing scrutineering without
an issue, first time ever.
Accreditation procedures followed
with all athletes and team officials issued
there accreditation. There are some really
good mug shots on the accreditation cards
for posterity.
The course was closed to all
competitors at 2:00pm for course erection
for the qualification tomorrow and on Saturday.
C1 and K1W qualification will be on Friday
kicking of at 9:00am with C1 men followed
by K1W. Two runs of Teams for C1 and K1 women
will be in the afternoon.
Demonstration runs were at 4:00pm
with all attending; with demonstration runs
came the rain. After demos all the athletes
walke dthe course with the cioaches. The course
consists of 20 gates of which 6 are up gates.
A photo of the course design will be in the
photo gallery.
The team went to dinner in Roudnice
at the Pizzeria before the opening ceremony
at 7:00pm. The Open Ceremony was dampened
a little by the continual rain through out.
The ceremony was attended by all the nations
in their uniforms and was a very colourful
affair. A couple of short speeches by the
dignitaries and it was over.
Back to Prague for video review
of the demo runs and off to bed
I went
to Tesco this evening to stock up for race
day, this place is open 24 hours.
