Today was the team's rest day. We started
out with a quick game of volleyball, but our
spirits were dampened by the breeze, which
made passing impossible. After a leisurely
stretching session, the team got ready to
go into Prague.
Geoff kindly dropped the team into Prague,
before heading off to the Prague zoo. The
team and Tori made our way to the castle.
Walking to the castle was almost a session
in itself. A long walk from the town square,
mostly uphill! As we arrived at the castle,
we heard the sounds of local musicians in
the entrance.
The castle was amazing, really big and old.
The team lined up for 50 mins to get inside
the cathedral. Inside was beautiful, intricate
stained glass windows and paintings throughout.
After 10 mins the team had seen enough and
broke off to roam the streets of Prague for
lunch and some shopping.
The boys went to a pizzeria, and spent the
last of their lunch money on gelato at the
Milano ice cream shop, distinguished from
the others by the chandelier inside. They
later headed home on the tram and by chance
ended up in Troja!
The girls ate lunch at a little cafe near
the Charles Bridge and perused the markets
and souvenir shops of Prague. At 4pm we headed
back to the accommodation for some rest before
dinner.
The Canadians that we met in Augsburg are
back in Prague, and came with us to dinner
at Del Corso, an Italian restaurant within
walking distance from the course.
That's all from Prague.
