Today started off with our first
session at Roudnice at 11am for the lead up
to the championships. We are training with
the New Zealand and Sweden, but no NZ yesterday.
So mixed performances in the session.
We had lunch at the course before
returning to our accommodation in Litomerice.
A bit of a break in the afternoon and then
a flat water recovery session on the Elbe
River, only a stones throw from the accommodation.
A very pleasant afternoon for the kids.
Well I have had my annual trip to a European
Hospital with on of the kids. Every year on
tour I end up visiting a hospital in some
part of Europe. Well the winner for this year
is Maddie Toms, no real issue, she complained
of a soar ear so I decided to whip her off
to the Hospital to see a doctor. Yep, ear
infection from all that Czech water. Some
antibiotics and ear ointment and we were on
our way. I would like to say that the staff
at the Hotel Helena have been excellent, we
indicted we need a doctor, they rang the hospital
and made an appointment and some one came
with us to the hospital, that is what I call
service.
The other drama for the day
was trying to feed the team at night in what
I would call the worst restaurant in the world.
A **** Star hotel, you think you could not
go wrong. We booked earlier in the day for
18 but the person I spoke to did not write
it down. We got there a 7:00pm at 9:15 we
had not seen a crumb
. Other people in
the place were also complaining. At this stage
we decided to get up and leave. Back to the
Hotel and a plee for assistance, well we got
tomorrow's breakfast rolls and eat them with
our lunch stuff for tomorrow. Back to the
supermarket in the morning to replenish stocks.
For any one that is interested on the number
of times I shop for this group you would be
horrified. I know all the best supermarkets
in Europe.
Anyway I think we have decided
to eat in for dinner. Hotel Helena has given
us permission to use the kitchen at the accommodation.
See You tomorrow.
