It was a slow start to the last day of the
tour, this is also the last diary entry for
the tour. A bit of a sleep in and a late breakfast
at 8am. It was time to pack all boats in readiness
for the flight home the next day, removal
of all the rubbish in cars and a mass clean
up.
Phil G and Karl left the tour
at Valstagna with both moving on to further
touring in Europe. We wish Phil G. all the
best on the 22 tour that commences in a couple
of weeks. Also Zlatan left the tour and retuned
to Slovenia for a few days R&R before
journeying to Prague to join the Senior Team.
10:30 am and we were finally
ready to roll, three less members to the team
and one less car. We all crammed into the
two jumpers and we headed off on the 5-6 hour
trip to Zurich. Well we didn't get far before
we had an issue with one of the jumpers, brake
pedal straight to the floor, a quick pumping
action and we had some brakes, a great start
to the journey. A stop in a service station,
some quick investigative work revealed brake
fluid oozing from the rear wheel brake line.
A bracket had come loose and the brake line
connector vibrated loose, some quick work
with a spanner and gaffa tape and the problem
was fixed. A quick lesson in Italian from
Phil Ms mum and we were up to speed with Brake
Fluid in Italian and we purchased the correct
fluid to top up the fluid reservoir.
Back on the road for the remainder
of the trip, a quick stop for lunch at an
Autogrill and back on the road. We arrived
in Zurich at 7:10pm and signed into our flash
accommodation at Formula 1.
We had our final dinner out
in Zurich, as some put it, the best meal of
the tour, as Jono put it, the beast steak
he has ever had
Back to formula 1 and bed before
an early rise for the trip to the airport
and the flight home.
Cheers from the final diary
entry.
