Today most of the team crawled out of bed
and went training, with a few exceptions who
stayed behind to fix boats (Ros, Phil.M, Karl
& Chris). The boat fixing crew didn't
get very far though as we ran out of resin.
The hard-core training group bravely battled
the thick swarms of mosquitoes. Most of the
team have probably contracted malaria by now.
After eating another fantastic Italian lunch
at the monastery, some of the team watched
a movie as part of their pre-race relaxation
program. This was followed by a walk into
town to explore the wares of various stores.
Before anyone could buy anything a trip to
the bank was necessary. However due to the
Italian custom of taking a siesta in the middle
of the day, we had a little trouble. We had
to use our cards to enter and we managed to
set off an alarm several times before figuring
out how to work the damn thing. Once we were
all cashed up, most headed towards the internet
café, so hopefully you loved ones back
home will receive some emails. We spent hours
shopping for presents, so hopefully you might
get some of those too. We returned home just
in time for dinner to find that the boys had
been entertaining themselves making fire-bombs
(just kidding).
Now Talis and Ros are slaving away at this
extraordinary work of literary art, while
everybody else is outside enjoying a game
of soccer.
Arrivideci! Love, the Auzzie junior team.
