Tuesday, 4/7/06 - Day 11

Ben and CJ

Today was a very eventful one. We awoke to a now regular early morning stretching session, with mixed emotions and responses. Then we had a very intriguing breakfast which you would enjoy if… well I can't think off anything. Anyway, some of us stayed back at our accommodation whilst others went for our daily shopping trip. We have been informed that Ros chose the express checkout with the trainee and Ian learnt some shopping etiquette. With the return of Geoff and the assigned shoppers and the much awaited food, lunch began. Lunch was downed quite quickly as we had a session quite shortly after. Some of us are now really tightening the bolts whilst others are leaving it right to the death but we are each of us constantly learning. We can definitely say that our teams runs have improved out of sight which needed to occur after some very interesting attempts earlier in the trip. We returned from training and after video review, many of us sat down to play cards, dominoes or watch the extreme sports channel. As some of you may know we are sharing the accommodation and today whilst resting after the session a random person entered the room and was buying something nice from the vending machine when Minger walked past and gave him a pinch on the nipple. Much to both of their surprise, they had never met before and Minger had mistaken the random for Karl. Shortly after this a group of the team was playing volleyball and discovered the competitive streak in Geoff. In a stunning effort to win the point, Geoff ended up with a face full of sand and dirt. Later in the day whilst some of us learnt to play dominoes, others of us were in the middle of some late race preparation, fitting out and sticking foam and bits into our boats to have them ready for the race. Time got away from us and it was time for us to leave for dinner at the Sabotin. I can say that all of us ate the entrée lasagna but few attempted the rather alive fish that was served up for us. After that we returned to the hotel and some of us chilled for a bit watching the Italy vs Germany semi-final which was proving to be a very exciting game. Then after all the excitement we all went to bed for a much needed recovery.
